I stayed at the Samling with my children Sarah who is 19 years of age and Ethan who is 15 Years of age and was concerned that the hotel may not have been suited to them and the fact I decided not to bring my car and to rely on taxis and public transport, We were upgraded to one of the stone cottages which was great, we loved the hotel we were all made to feel very welcome the staff were lovely. The accommodation was perfect and we all used the hot tub which was a lovely experience. The water sports centre was great and I arranged for them to Canoe there and Water Ski which again was a great experience for them. Thank You for making our stay really enjoyable

Celebrated Easter with a great time at this lakeside hotel. The room had a fantastic view of the lake. The food was exquisite, with a variety of wines to choose from. We enjoyed the attentive and well-mannered staff.

The facilities were not many. We expected to find a pool or spa that could have made the trip more relaxing.

the location, overlooking Lake Windermere, was breathtaking, and I loved being able to easily access the ferry or explore the charming town of Ambleside. the room I stayed in was spacious and had stunning views of the lake. the bathroom was clean and modern, providing a luxurious experience. the staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. the breakfast was outstanding, offering a wide variety of high-quality options.

The food was a disappointment. Some dishes were underwhelming and peculiar, and a totally un-seasoned risotto was served with the haddock and poached egg.

We had our Labrador dog with us and the hotel was really Excellent. Most "dog Friendly" Hotels scrimp on room quality and luxury, the Samling is a very welcome exvception. Friendly, helpful staff.The stay was very pleasantly memorable.

The walk around the hotel grounds needs marking better.

The experience from arrival to departure was wonderful. Very attentive staff, exciting and delicious food and fantastic view from hot tub and hotel bedroom. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quite, luxury break.

The staff were possibly a little too attentive whilst having our evening meal, however this is purely personal and it would not stop us booking again.
